The Every Other Day Diet.

There cannot be many of us that have not at least attempted a diet at least once. There are many different types of diet for you to choose and it can be a difficult job deciding which one suits you best. Here we look at the every other day diet.

The basic principle of this diet is to eat normally (a normal diet) one day and the next day you only consume 300 to 400 calories.

On other diets your metabolism slows itself down as your body thinks it is being starved and therefore holds on to its fat supplies in case it does not receive any food. This diet does not let your metabolism slow down.

The idea is that by alternating your calorie intake your body will not go into starvation mode and hold on to calories. This is the classic way that people do not lose weight on diets as they starve themselves.

Whilst this diet will not suit everyone, there are definitely some who it will suit. Some people naturally eat more one day and then less the next and so on. For those with health problems it probably is not the diet for you, especially diabetics.

It is always advisable to see your own doctor before going on any diet to ensure that it is suitable for you.

We all know that we need to eat more fruit and vegetables but it is particularly important to do this when you are dieting. Try pureeing them or perhaps dry roasting them in an oven. Or steaming.

Drink plenty of fluids during the day but this is especially important during the day when you are consuming lower calories. Be aware that having a low calorie consumption may make you feel light headed and unwell.

If you find yourself feeling at all unwell come straight off the diet and eat something sweet or containing carbohydrates to bring your blood sugar back to normal.

You will achieve better results if you exercise as well as being on a diet. Doing the two together would ensure a good overall steady weight loss and ensure that the weight stays off once you have reached your weight goal.

It is a good idea to exercise to help the weight come off, but do not do this on the day when you have a low calorie consumption as you will not have consumed enough calories to sustain an exercise programme and you could pass out. Eventually the weight will come off and you will feel great.

The EODD Diet will give you the best chance of losing weight if you have failed at normal dieting in the past. The Every Other Day Dietwill help you to blast apart diet dogma and lose weight fast.
